Lambert Castle Grounds
Receptions, Ceremonies, and Social Functions

At this time the inside of Lambert Castle is no longer available for private events, parties or functions.

All receptions, ceremonies, and parties must take place on the grounds between May 1st and September 15th. Renters and their caterers and guests have limited access to the Castle’s first floor, for use of the restrooms and serving kitchen only. Under no circumstances are renters or their guests allowed to use the building for their event in the case of bad weather. Please review the policy below for more details and rates.

Programs, Performances, and Filming

The inside of Lambert Castle may be rented for educational or historic-minded functions. These functions include programs, lectures, exhibits and documentary/historic filming. Rentals must not conflict with the hours of the museum and library. Please review the policy below for more details and rates.

Inside Rental Policy

Interested in Booking an Event
All requests to use Lambert Castle interior or grounds must be made in writing at least 90 days prior to the date of the rental. All applications are subject to approval by the Passaic County Historical Society Board of Trustees. We strongly encourage potential renters to be schedule a meeting with our staff beforehand, to review your plans and some of our rental regulations.Please be aware that the Castle may not be available due to a Historical Society sponsored event. Due to the available facilities, we do not host more than one event at the same time. All PCHS events are listed on our Calendar of Events page. During the months of October and November, the Castle is not available for rentals as we are preparing and holding our Holiday Boutique.

If you are interested in having a large gathering or ceremony at Lambert Castle and you do not require access to our restrooms or kitchen facilities, you are not required to book a rental. Instead (for groups of 10 or larger) you are requested to complete a Special Event Permit.
